Six Sigma Black Belt Manufacturing Engineer

PV Fluid Products specializes in the design, supply and support of mud motor power sections used in downhole, horizontal and directional drilling. The power section design is based on the progressing cavity (pc) moineau principle.


Job Summary

The Stator Manufacturing Engineer III Six Sigma Black Belt is responsible for managing and implementing process improvements projects using Six Sigma methodologies, techniques, and tools and assigns project team tasks to increase customer satisfaction levels and business productivity.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead quality improvement projects utilizing Six Sigma strategy.  
  • Train, mentor and coach Six Sigma Green/Yellow Belts on improvement projects.  Create project plans and guide team members, including personnel certified at the Green and Yellow Belt levels, to complete projects in a timely manner.
  • Train other team members on how to use Six Sigma tools and techniques, such as control charts, histograms and a root cause analysis.
  • Work with executive management to select and prioritize projects to ensure work aligns with strategic goals. 
  • Support and participate in the organization’s Continual Improvement Program to conform to ISO 9001:2015 requirements by complying with the Quality Policy and procedures and meeting QMS objectives. 
  • Other duties as assigned.


Education and Training

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt is required. 



  • 5 to 10 years of progressive mechanical design experience.
  • Extensive experience in manufacturing and business environments. 
  • Machining/mechanical experience a plus.
  • Rubber injection molding experience a plus.
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001:2015 environment a plus.

  • Knowledgeable of 2D layout/design (e.g. AutoCad) 
  • Knowledgeable of SolidWorks preferred. 
  • Must possess a comprehensive understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). 


Physical and Safety Requirements

  • Sitting, bending, standing, walking, 8-10 hours per day.
  • Able to lift 25 lbs. • Must comply with any safety or PPE requirements.
  • Exposure to production environment.
